Obituary of Marie Augusta Rohrer Mace

In loving memory of a wandering star, Marie Augusta Rohrer Mace.

Marie left this life behind at the age of 83, on December 31,2024 at Fairveiw Southdale Hospital in Edina, Minnesota, due to complications with pneumonia.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John Augustine Smith Rohrer and Minnie Alice Collings Rohrer, as well as her brother, John Thomas Rohrer.

Marie is survived by her brothers, David Michael Rohrer and Timothy Smith Rohrer as well, her four children, Robert Lynn Owensby, Ronald Glenn Owensby, Doña Leigh Howdyshell, Gregory Allen Owensby and their children and grandchildren.

She also leaves behind three husbands, William Owensby, William Ashford (deceased), and Jerry Mace (deceased).

Born June 30th,1941 in Christiansburg, VA, she graduated from Andrew Lewis HS in Salem, VA. She continued her self-education through the love of people, books, art, and travel.

Most of her working life was in the accounting/purchasing field. 

A Remembrance Service will be held at Martin Luther Care Center on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at 10:30 AM in the chapel.

Her love will live on through the hearts and souls of all who knew her.
