Obituary of Eugene Thomas Collier, Jr.

Eugene ("Tom") Thomas Collier, Jr., born on April 28, 1948, in Richmond, Virginia, passed away at his home in Duluth, Minnesota, on December 31, 2024, at the age of 76.

Tom graduated from Burnsville High School and later studied photography at The Minneapolis School of Visual Arts. Tom was a Vietnam veteran who served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Mullany. His dedication to service was a defining chapter of his life and a source of great pride.

After his military service, Tom pursued a career as a wedding photographer, capturing cherished moments for countless couples and their families. His creative talents extended to graphic design and a lifelong passion for watercolor and acrylic painting. Music also held a special place in his heart, enriching his life and those around him. He cherished spending time with his beloved dogs, Cooper and Sasha, who brought him endless joy.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Thomas Collier, Sr. and Marjorie Pearl Collier. He is survived by his beloved wife of 21 years, Jeri Collier; their son, David Collier; his daughters Angela Edris (Joel) and Cynthia Berg; two grandchildren, Jessica and Justin; his brother Jim (Carol) Collier; his sister Teri Collier; and several nieces and nephews. Tom’s life was marked by creativity, service, and love for his family.

Tom will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His kindness, warmth, and unwavering love for his family will remain in the hearts of those he touched. His legacy lives on through the cherished memories and enduring love of his family and friends. May Tom’s memory bring comfort to those who mourn his passing and serve as a reminder of a life well-lived.

A Celebration of Life will be held on January 17, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Hermantown Public Safety Building, 5111 Maple Grove Rd., Duluth, MN. A Funeral will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, 4777 Hwy 53, Saginaw, MN.
