I only met Mike a few times through work at Hennepin, however it was an honor to even have that. I am so sorry for this beautiful Soul being gone from our Earth. A leaf has fallen from the tree yet remains alive with his family. What a beautiful legacy he gave to many. I wish the family some healing with those memories and the love that Mike had for his family and friends. I thank you Mike for your brave service and commitment to your Country and compassion in your job.

I worked with Mike in the late 90s and early 2000s. He was hardworking, competent, kind, and funny. He never lectured but instead set an example of how to be a really good human. My condolences to his family and friends, I know he is still watching over you.

I can't believe the sad news. Mike was an amazing man; I will be forever grateful for the conversations and advise Mike gave me over the years. Mike was a family man; he had a strong love for his wife Margaret their daughter Amy and her husband Nathan and all their furry friends. I remember Mike coming into to work on Mondays and he would always have stories to tell about something that happened over the weekend what he cooked over the weekend or something funny one of the dogs did or the time he got to connect with his family. He was such a kind and gentle man. He spoke quietly and if you got him mad, he let you know as respectfully as he could. I remember him shooting rubber bands and paperclips over the cubical walls just to say hello to his coworkers. Mike was a very dedicated man to his work he was one that took the time to explain things to people so they could understand better, and he always wanted the best outcome for everyone involved. I remember him taking phone calls at work from his family and he always said I love you to them before getting off the phone. I remember when Amy came into the office over the summer to have lunch with her dad. Mike would share pictures of Amy when she was in college and tell us how proud he was of her and everything she has accomplished. Occasionally in the wintertime Mike came into work a little late because he had to drive Margaret into work because of the snowstorms. Whenever PFU had a potluck Mike was always helping with the heating up or cooking with his huge white roaster which I believe he actually donated to the Northwest Service Center to let the legacy live on of office parties. Anyone that knew Mike was lucky. Rest Easy my friend. Don't you and Jean cause too much trouble up their until we all meet again.
