Obituary of John Roy Timm

John Roy Timm, age 81, of Burnsville, Minnesota passed away peacefully on December 21, 2024.

John was born on March 25, 1943, in Faribault, Minnesota to Roy and Alwilda (Sommerness) Timm. John grew up on the Timm Family farm in rural Morristown and graduated from Waseca High School. John served in the United States Air Force where he was a mechanical crew chief on military jets. He returned home to work as a mechanic at Matejcek's Implement in Faribault. In 1969, John began his work as an equipment operator and mechanic for Timm's Trucking in Morristown, Minnesota. John worked as a talented excavator and mechanic alongside his extended family for 43 years.

John had a passion for aviation and loved flying his Cessna 172 with his family and friends as passengers. John is the loving father of Brian and Debbie. In 1981, John married Ann. Ann and her daughters, Phoebe and Emily, moved to the family farm and together John and Ann raised their children. John and Ann had a full life together with travel and hosting many friends and family at their homes in Burnsville, Minnesota, Savannah, Georgia and a cozy cabin on Lake Superior. John cherished his family, his friendships, his neighbors and his sweet dog, Gracie.

John is survived by his wife of 43 years, Ann Briggs Timm; son, Brian John (Carol) Timm; daughter, Debbie (Jim) Davidson; stepdaughters, Phoebe (David) Gray and Emily (John) Pearson.; grandchildren, Anna (Aaron) Thompson, Sarah Davidson, Isabelle Gray, Caroline Gray and Henry Pearson; and special niece, Suzy (Steven) Blodgett.

John is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert Timm.

A celebration of John's life will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025 at 2 pm (1:30pm visitation) with a reception to follow at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 7110 France Avenue South, Edina, Minnesota.
