Obituary of Craig Lee Davidson MD

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Craig Davidson, MD, of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, who passed away on December 23, 2024, at the age of 77. He worked as an Internal Medicine physician at Park Nicollet Medical Center, where he was beloved by patients and staff. Later in his career, Craig transitioned to the life insurance industry, where his innovation and research led the company to become the first to offer life insurance to people with prostate cancer, breast cancer, and HIV.

Craig was deeply dedicated to bettering the lives of others—his patients, his family, and the many people he mentored and encouraged with thoughtfulness. Known for his quick wit, bright outlook, and sharp sense of humor, he also possessed a profound kindness that he shared selflessly.

He enjoyed reading, gardening, good conversation, biking, and was a lifelong learner. Craig was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Karen, and his brother John. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Janet; his sons, Collin (Amy Kerr) and Chris (Jodi Osmond); his sisters, Gail (Dave) Wood and Nancy (Mike) Cockson; his grandchildren, Margaret, Clementine, Caleb, and Juniper; as well as his nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Craig’s life will be held on Saturday, May 31st at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 7110 France Ave S, Edina, MN 55435 from 1:00 - 4:00pm.
