Duane Boyle

Obituary of Duane Donald Boyle

Duane Donald Boyle, age 84, passed away peacefully on December 12th, 2024 at his home in Lakeville MN. Duane was surrounded by loving family the week preceding his death and will be missed by all.

Duane was born June 8th, 1940 to Martin and Frances Boyle and grew up in Richfield MN with his older brother Gerald. He married Sally Olson of Bloomington on December 21st, 1960 and they had over 60 years of loving marriage together until Sally passed in 2021. They raised 3 boys, William, James and Thomas in Bloomington and were always involved in their boys' activities. Duane loved hunting and fishing and passed that legacy to his sons with many trips throughout their lives. He was an expert walleye fisherman and loved their trips to Canada and Alaska together, always out fishing the boys! Duane and Sally loved to travel with many trips both together and with family but especially their trips to Thailand to visit Jim and his family there.

Duane worked for many years as a sales representative for Wunda Weave and Mohawk selling carpet. He excelled in the sales world and was well respected by all he worked with. He was an exceptional businessman and savvy at investing, providing well for his family. After retirement, Duane and Sally moved to Webster MN settling in on 80 beautiful acres of rolling hills where they would live out the rest of their marriage. Duane loved that land, planting over 5000 trees along with corn for the pheasants and deer. He nurtured those trees lovingly, making an already beautiful land a retirement sanctuary for the two of them. The whole family spent many hours down there enjoying the fruits of his labor. He loved to putter around on his John Deere tractor and spend hours tinkering in his pole barn. It was a wonderful, peaceful retirement for both of them.

Duane was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Frances, and wife Sally. He is survived by brother Gerald (Madeline), sons William (Elizabeth), James (May) and Thomas (Gabriel) along with grandchildren Clara, Jake and Sittisak and many nieces, nephews and friends.
