Obituary of Patrick Menor

Patrick Menor, died on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at Solvay Hospice House in Duluth. He was 56. Pat was born on October 6, 1968, to Ricardo and Jan Menor, and was a lifelong Duluthian. Pat was very proud of his military career, which began the summer before his senior year of high school, and continued for 21 years. He was deployed to Bosnia in 2003-04.

Patrick was friends with everyone he met. Through his work as a server/bartender, liquor store staffer, landlord, real estate agent, autoglass tech, mechanic and several other areas, he made lifelong friends who adored him. He was a great lover of the outdoors and relished spending time fishing, hunting or at the cabin all year long. Annual fishing opener weekend at “The Hangar” with lifelong friends, ice fishing trips up north, and spending time at the cabin with family and friends were especially meaningful to Pat. As much as he enjoyed the outdoors, he especially cherished spending time with his loved ones. All-night visits around the fire with nieces, nephews and friends, boat rides, and the hunting shack were his happy places.

Pat was preceded in death by his parents, Ricardo and Jan, his brother-in-law, Bill Olson, and his dear friend and second father, John Nowack.

Pat will be dearly missed by his siblings, Tony (Beth), Dan (Patrice), Kathleen Olson and Colleen/Gypsy (Pete) Began, and by nieces and nephews Trenton, Wesley, Audrey, Cerrena, Chris, Kevin, Brian, Mike, Joe, Teddy, Billy, Rosie, Tommy, Alex and Allison, and an infinite number of beloved cousins and friends. Pat’s family is especially grateful to the nurses at Essentia Cancer Center and Solvay Hospice House, who were so kind to him throughout his treatment.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, December 22, 2024 at 1:30 pm at the Buffalo House, 2590 Guss Road in Duluth, followed immediately by food and a Celebration of Life, also at the Buffalo House.
