Jay David Anderson


Jay Anderson, 61, of Cloquet, died Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth. Jay was born in Belle Fourche, South Dakota, on November 9, 1963.  The son of David and Mary Lou (Lingren) Anderson. He graduated from Proctor High School in 1982 and enjoyed playing basketball and baseball during his years as a Proctor Rail. Jay spent many years working in the Cities and married Christine Ruzich on January 30, 1987.  They moved back up north in 1999 and settled in Cloquet.  He held various jobs over the years with the latest being with the local railroad as a PTI Driver transporting employees to different job sites.  He also enjoyed fishing as often as he could.


He was preceded in death by his father, David Anderson, sister, Susie Ram, and nephew, Stone Anderson.


Jay is survived by his wife, Christine, children, Aaron (Britta) of Apple Valley, Darren of Duluth, Kyle (Alexandra) of Sandstone, and Megan of Duluth; mother Mary Lou Anderson, brother Mark (Janet) Anderson and sister, Julie (Dennis) Pelletier; grandchildren, Gwenevere, Elliot, Ezra, Tyson and Axel; his dog Gabby and many nieces and nephews. A private service for family will be held in the spring of 2025.
