Obituary of Gregory Garmer

Rev. Gregory Garmer, age 78, of Duluth, died on December 2, 2024 as the result of a tragic accident. He was born July 19, 1946. He graduated Augsburg College 1968 and from Luther Northwestern Seminary St. Paul 1972. Gregory was ordained into the Lutheran church ministry in November 1972.  He served parishes in Glenwood, Mn.; Mt. Prospect, Il; Morris Mn.;  and Duluth, Mn. He retired January 1, 2013.

On September 16, 1967, he married Mary Michaelsen. Greg became a dad on June 16, 1987 when Michael was born to Greg and Mary. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Marlys. He is survived by wife, Mary; son, Michael; sister, Alice Connors; two sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; ten nieces and nephews; eleven great nieces and nephews; many cousins, other relatives and many friends. 

Visitation will be Saturday, December 28, 2024 at First Lutheran Church, 1100 E. Superior Street, Duluth, at 10 am with the service at 11am. Lunch will be served.

Memorials preferred to Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, designated to the solar project.
