Obituary of Jeremy (Jay) James Urbanska

Jeremy (Jay) James Urbanska

Jeremy (Jay) James Urbanska, 50, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, due to a heart attack. His unexpected passing has left a huge hole in the hearts of everyone who knew him.

Jay was raised in Foley, MN, by Jim and Sue Urbanska. He met his future wife, Melissa, when his sister, Stacy, moved next door to Melissa’s family. Their initial shyness toward each other finally evolved into a high school romance, which led to their marriage on October 5, 1996. The couple started their life together in St. Cloud, MN, where they had their two kids, Nikki and Zac. In 2005, they made Royalton, MN, their home.

Jay’s family was his world, and he took great pride in Nikki and Zac, always celebrating their achievements and supporting their dreams with unwavering love and encouragement.

Jeremy was a kind and patient man. Following the passing of his mother, Sue in 2023, Jeremy saw a need for adult care. After many conversations with Melissa, they decided he would start his own business, Adult Care Urban Homes. In 2024, the company welcomed their first resident that brought immense joy to Jeremy and his family.

Jay had a knack for mechanics and a passion for fixing things. There wasn't a problem he wouldn't try to solve or an engine he couldn't work on. He was a true jack of all trades, always willing to lend a helping hand and share his knowledge. Jay’s ability to fix anything and his dedication to helping others will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In his free time, Jay loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and taking his Jeep on adventures. He also appreciated the finer things in life, like a good cigar and a glass of scotch. At home, he enjoyed watching movies and playing games with family and friends, creating memories that will be cherished forever.

Jay is survived by his wife, Melissa Urbanska; children, Nicole (Matt) Sieben and Zachary Urbanska (Cathleen Riefer); father, James Urbanska; sister, Stacy (Charles) Burns; nephew, Mitchell (Kristen) Burns; nieces, Morgan (Seth) Teeter, Emma Burns (Joe Baker), Sofia Patton, and Claire Patton; and many other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his mother Sue, grandparents, and uncles.

A memorial service will be held at Royalton American Legion, Royalton, MN on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
