Obituary of Timothy Alan Knutson

January 25, 1983 - December 3, 2024

Timothy Alan Knutson, aged 41, passed away unexpectedly from natural causes on December 3rd, 2024. He was a beloved son, brother, father, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Tim was born on January 25th, 1983 in Saint Louis Park, Minnesota to his parents, Alan Knutson and Kathleen (Ellison) Jones. They moved to Jonesboro, Georgia, where he spent his formative years. In 1992 the family moved to Jordan, Minnesota. Tim graduated from Jordan High School in 2001. He attended Hennepin Technical College to earn a Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) degree. Tim worked in the HVAC field as a Senior Service Technician on residential and commercial units for 23 years. Throughout his career, he was known for his hard work and knowledge in the field.

Tim married Nancy Austin in June of 2007, and together they had three children, Claire, Julia, and Hannah. Tim’s hobbies included deer hunting with friends and family, boating on the lake, ice fishing, watching the Minnesota Wild with his children, and riding his motorcycle. Tim was particularly proud of his 1993 Chevy Blazer.  Tim enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Tim will be remembered for his sense of humor and the pranks he loved playing on his coworkers. 

Tim is survived by his children, Claire Knutson (15), Julia Knutson (12), and Hannah Knutson (10), their mother Nancy Knutson, his mother Kathleen (Ellison) Jones, sisters Sara Knutson and Kelly (Richie) Clark, his stepmother Janet Knutson and many aunts, uncles, cousins and nephews. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.

Tim was preceded in death by his father Alan Dean Knutson, grandparents Russell and Grace Knutson, and grandparents Laurence and Leona Ellison.
