Obituary of Ken Sapp
Kenneth Charles Sapp, born 20 November 1944 died peacefully at home on November 30, 2024.
Ken was born in Willmar, MN and raised on a farm in Morton, MN until moving to Deephaven, MN as a teenager. He graduated from Minnetonka High School in 1962 and Dunwoody Trade School. Ken was a veteran of U.S. Army Special Forces; retired Master Plumber with Minneapolis Local 15.
Kenny was the eldest of eight children and enjoyed telling the younger family members stories about growing up on the Morton farm and family history. He has extended family throughout the country and enjoyed traveling over the years for reunions, as well as to explore new places.
After moving to Almelund, MN, Ken and his wife Gina, built their home on farmland. He enjoyed family gatherings and community activities including Lions Club, 4-H and church activities. In his free time, you could find him outside tinkering with his truck, boat or tractor, or enjoying home life with favorite canine companions, Buddy and Ella.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Leroy Sapp and Alice Leona Sapp and brother Marvin Sapp.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Regina (Smith) Sapp; his daughters Christina Sederholm and Jennifer (Ryan) Toso; stepdaughter Michelle (Ben) Simmons; two stepsons: Paul (Amy) Honmyhr and Brent (Leslie) Honmyhr; sisters, Diane Sapp and Patricia (Adam) Rogers; brothers Steven (Colleen) Sapp; James (Colette) Sapp; Darwin (Lynette) Sapp; Darrel (Linda); seven grandchildren and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family throughout the United States.
Memorials preferred to any organization that promotes care and kindness toward humans and animals. Per Ken’s wishes, he will be laid to rest at a family service at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis at a later date.
