Obituary of Linda K. Hendrickson

July 20, 1943 – December 3, 2024

Linda K. Hendrickson, 81, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2024. Linda was a bright light to all who met her and the life of every gathering. She was a loving friend, always ready with a kind word, a phone call, or a thoughtful card to lift the spirits of others. Linda’s joy came from making others feel special — whether by setting a beautiful table, preparing a delicious meal, or simply being there to listen and offer a helping hand in times of need.

She was the kind of friend who would happily drive you to an appointment, share a meal, or go door to door delivering a single rose from a bouquet she had received, just to brighten someone else’s day. A devoted giver, Linda found her greatest joy in spreading love, laughter, and joy to those around her.

Linda worked as an Executive Secretary, supporting senior executives, lawyers, and bank presidents throughout her career. She was a proud, hardworking mother and a role model to her daughter, Kari. A true fighter, Linda survived ovarian cancer for 39 years, never letting her health challenges slow her down. She lived her life by the mantra, "Use it or lose it," always putting one foot in front of the other and embracing life to the fullest, no matter the obstacles.

Linda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dale Hendrickson, her parents Violet and Vernon Olson, her stepmother Dorothy Anderson, and her younger sister, Shari Hultmann.

She is survived by her daughter, Kari Iverson (Mark); stepdaughter, Kim Olson (Ken); brothers Wayne Olson (Gail), Richard Olson (Diane), Curt Olson (Pat), and Dale Olson (Judy); stepmother Rhea Olson; grandchildren Jack Iverson, Kelly Misiura, Kirk Olson; and great-grandchildren Caden Olson, Landon Olson, Jayde Olson, and Mavery Misiura.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at Fremont Village Senior Living (26369 2nd Street East, Zimmerman, MN). Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., followed by a service from 2:00 to 2:30 p.m. An ice cream social, Linda’s favorite treat, will follow the service.  

The family would like to extend a special thanks to all the staff at Fremont Village and Moments Hospice for treating Linda like family and helping her live her best life to the very end. A heartfelt shoutout to her angels: Brooke, Jade, Rochelle and Carrie, for their compassionate care.

Linda’s legacy of love, kindness, and resilience will continue to inspire all who knew her. We will forever remember her sparkling spirit, and the light she brought into the world.
