Obituary of Charles Paul Wentworth

The Man, the Myth, The Legend. An entrepreneur, pilot, innovator, loving husband, great father and loyal friend, Chuck Wentworth passed away on November 30, 2024 at the age of 92.

Charles Paul Wentworth was born on 11/11/32 in Mc Intyre, Iowa to Jess and Golda Wentworth. After growing up on farms and in small towns in rural Iowa and Minnesota, Chuck moved to Minneapolis and attended Northwestern College. He married Nadine and started raising 4 children. Chuck made his living selling cars and then moved on to airplanes - parts that is. He and son Steve started Wentworth Aircraft Inc. in 1985 with daughter Cindy assisting. WAI has gone on to become one of the premier aircraft salvage operations in the country.

In 1978, Chuck married the love of his life, Jacquelyne Korba. Over the years, Chuck took pleasure in flying his own planes, instructing new pilots and traveling the country driving a semi to recover damaged aircraft. In addition, during their 46 years together, Chuck and Jacquie thoroughly enjoyed their passions for travel, dining out, socializing with friends and raising scotties. In retirement, they were blessed with attentive neighbors in NE Minneapolis who helped with whatever was necessary

Chuck leaves behind his wife Jacquie; sister Dorothy Nelson; children Marcia (Bruce) Wilda, Steve (Jennifer) Wentworth and Karen Bucklen; grandchildren Chrissy, Kim, Steve (Miriah), Kelly, Amanda (Kyle), Jiren, Katelyn, Dimitri, Gwen, Sara, Heidi (Pierre), Jeremy (Susie), Jason (Courtney); greatgrandchildren Roman, Paityn and Kolten; Gavin and Trista; Henry; Prisilla; Mikel, Elijah, Sari, Emmy, Jasmine, Malaysia, Jaden and Kaydence; Noah; Gunnar and Shayla; 2 great-greatgrandchildren; nieces and nephews. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; brothers John and Rick Wentworth, sisters Mildred Byrd and Shirley Ferguson; beloved daughter Cindy King; sons-in-law Steve King and Chris Bucklen.

A “Chuck type” gathering will take place at Murzyn Hall, 530 Mill St,. Columbia Heights, MN from 1 to 4 p.m.on Friday, December 20, 2024. Friends and family are welcome to say their goodbyes.
