Obituary of Carol Lynette Martinson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Carol Lynette Martinson, who left us peacefully on November 27, 2024, at the age of 86. She was a devoted mother, a loving wife, a grandmother and a dedicated individual who worked tirelessly to provide for her family.

Carol, born on May 11, 1938, in Baudette, MN, was known for her remarkable work ethic. She balanced the demands of her job with the nurturing care she gave her family. She taught us the true meaning of hard work, integrity, and commitment. Her resilience and dedication will forever be remembered by those who were fortunate enough to know her.

As a mother, Carol was nothing short of extraordinary. She made her home a place of warmth, joy, and comfort, where there was always room for one more. Whether it was entertaining, offering advice with a side of humor, or telling stories that made us laugh, she gave everything of herself to her family. Her unconditional love and humor helped us through the good and hard times.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Martinson, parents, Roy and Agnes Fagen, brothers, Ken Fagen, Leon Fagen, Dean Fagen, sisters, Ann Ebeltoft, Ruth Hegg, Dorthy Eckstrom, June Skaar. She is survived by, children, Ann (Mark) Rotter, Lee Martinson, Eric (Renee) Martinson, sister, Diane (Bob) Anderson, grandchildren, Noah (Rae) Rotter, Adam Rotter, Stefanie Kennedy, Ryan Kennedy, Kylie Kennedy, Wellington Martinson, great-grandchild, Tate Rotter and many other extended family and friends. 

Carol’s life will be celebrated at the Cremation Society of MN (Edina Chapel) on December 12, 2024. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM, and the service will begin at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.

Rest in peace, Mom. Your laughter will live on in our hearts forever. You made our lives brighter and filled every moment with joy. We will miss you deeply, but we take comfort in knowing your spirit and sense of humor will remain with us always.
