Doran George Enninga, a cherished father and grandfather, passed away on November 28th at his home in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. A memorial service to honor his life will be held on December 14th at 12 Noon at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, located at 7835 Brooklyn Blvd, Minneapolis, MN 55445. Born on May 11th, 1958, in Worthington, Minnesota, Doran was the youngest of four sons to Arnold and Harriet Enninga. At the age of three, his family moved from their farm to Brooklyn Center, where Doran grew up and graduated from Brooklyn Center High School in 1976. He went on to attend the University of Minnesota, earning a Bachelor's degree in Business and Psychology. During his college years, Doran began roofing as a summer job, which ultimately became his lifelong vocation. He successfully ran his own roofing business for over 30 years.
Doran was an avid outdoorsman, finding joy in activities such as fishing with friends, hunting, gardening, cutting wood, and playing horseshoes in the backyard. He was always ready to lend a helping hand, often seen snowblowing his own and his neighbors' driveways. In recent years, Doran embraced his new role as a grandfather, finding immense joy in watching and playing with his three beloved grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Harriet Enninga, and his brother, Duane (Pat) Enninga.
Doran's memory will be lovingly cherished by his daughter, Annell Velasco Nelson; his son-in-law, Cale Nelson; his grandson, Griffin Nelson; his granddaughters, Ariyah Nelson and Lennox Nelson; his brothers, David (Cheryl) Enninga and Daryl (Pam) Enninga; and a host of extended family and dear friends.
