Obituary of Jeffrey Scott Michaud
Jeffrey Scott Michaud, 58, of Maple, WI passed away at the Solvay Hospice House alongside his wife and daughter on November 28th, 2024 after a long battle with cancer.
Jeff was born in Duluth, MN on September 11th, 1966, son of Dennis Michaud and Lynda Salisbury. He graduated from Northwestern High School with the class of 1984, where he was not only on the wrestling and football team, but was also part of the 2,000 lb club for weight lifting.
After graduating, Jeff attended WITC and earned his degree in Auto Mechanics in 1986. Since then, he had completed many certifications, to which he renewed as he needed and attended Professional Technician seminars pertaining to Mechanics throughout the years. Jeff had been a car enthusiast since the ripe age of 14, when he rebuilt his first engine start to finish. In his younger years, he enjoyed the adrenaline rush from driving his Pontiac Trans Am, 69’ Pontiac GTO, or his Chevelle 3 Speed down a long stretch of road; though his favorite was his Black 78’ 4 Speed Trans Am. In 1990, Jeff spent some time in Texas where he owned and operated Michaud Automotive before moving back home to Wisconsin in 1992.
He married the love of his life, Sandra, on November 5th, 1999 where he became father of two sons; Ryan and Kyle Heinen. He and Sandra were blessed with their “miracle baby” Alicia on December 3rd, 1999, and shortly after purchased their first home together. Being at the highest point in Maple, WI, Jeff thought that this home was the perfect home to raise his children in; called it “God’s country.” In their early years together, Jeff was able to teach the almost 3 year old, Ryan to walk for the first time.
Jeff landed his dream job with the United States Postal Service and worked there as a mechanic for 10 years, but had been in the automotive industry his whole life. He enjoyed countless hours in the garage, whether he was working on a vehicle, or watching football with a few friends and family. Jeff was an avid Green Bay Packers fan, and would never miss a game. He loved being outdoors, some activities including; hunting, shooting guns, cutting wood, or playing with his two dogs, Buster and Buddy. He often was found mowing the lawn with a Budweiser in hand for peace of mind. He enjoyed the company of friends and family, especially from his wife and 3 children. Jeff’s pride and joy was a 2018 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie that he purchased approximately a year ago; always keeping it well-maintained and meticulously cleaned. He enjoyed watching old westerns, and had a smile and personality that brightened any room he was in. He loved his home, garage, and his land, but most importantly loved his family above all else. Jeff was always willing to lend a helping hand whenever someone needed it, and was loved by many.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Michaud.
Jeff is survived by his mother; Lynda Salisbury, wife; Sandra Michaud, brothers; Tony Lawler and Brian Michaud, sister in-law; Dorothy Michaud, son’s; Kyle Heinen and Ryan Heinen, daughter; Alicia Kavajecz, and son in-law; Steven Kavajecz.
