Obituary of Craig William Godmare

Craig William Godmare, 71, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2021 in Duluth, MN. He was born August 11, 1949 in Duluth to William and Dorothy Godmare. He was a lifelong resident of Pike Lake and Duluth. He attended school at Pike Lake Elementary and Proctor High School, graduating in 1967. He attended and graduated with an Associated Degree from Heavy Equipment Operation Vocational School in Staples, MN. He then successfully operated his own trucking firm for a good number of years.

Craig was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was active as an usher. His fondest pastimes were deer hunting and fishing in Northern Minnesota with friends and family. He was an avid reader of history books and loved discussing local, national and international politics. He spent a good number of years caring for and assisting his parents and grandparents.

He is survived by his two brothers, Steven (Betsy) of Spring Lake Park, MN, and Bruce of Pike Lake; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering will be held at a later date, post Covid. Inurnment will take place at Oneota Cemetery in West Duluth. Memorials may be sent to Group Health Hospice Care in Duluth. Arrangements by the Cremation Society of Minnesota.
