Obituary of Viriginia Lee Russell

Virginia L. Russell

Mom left us for heaven on February 15, 2021.  In an instant, she left this earthly life, and is now with Jesus.

Mom grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan on their family farm.  She worked for many years as a switchboard operator for the Federal Government.  She spent a number of years as a Girl Scout Leader in Proctor, Minnesota.  Her favorite hobbies were sewing, crocheting, quilting, knitting and embroidery.  She was an avid gardener as well, and provided the family and neighbors with all sorts of fresh produce during the summer months.  Her flowers were always beautiful and abundant.

In 1952, Mom married our Dad, Charles E. Russell and they were married for 63 years, at the time of his passing in 2015.

She is survived by their two daughters, Rosemary (Steven) Tiggemann, and Andrea (Dennis) Lien; grandchildren, Gillian, Ian (Sarah), Cassandra (Scott), Heather, Eric (Ohnnia, Garth (Louise), Erin (Jeremy); and her great-grandchildren, Stevie, Charlotte, Lucy, Leah, Anna, Dylan, Logan, Anessa, Cameron, Sharni, Nathaniel and Nicholas.

Mom was very, very much loved, and will always be missed.  Inurnment will be a later date in a private family ceremony.
