Obituary of Grace Helen Buesgens

Grace Buesgens, age 90, of Belle Plaine passed away peacefully on Monday, February 1, 2021 at her home in Belle Plaine.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, February 12^th at 10:30 AM, Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church, Belle Plaine. Fr. Michael Kaluza will officiate. Mass will be live streamed at ourladyoftheprairie.com. Private interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Grace was born in Belle Plaine on June 21, 1930 to Christian and Alice Schmitt. She grew up and attended high school in Jordan, MN. On January 31, 1948 she was united in marriage to Arthur Buesgens of Chaska, MN and in 1950 they moved to rural Belle Plaine and eventually became longtime residents of the City of Belle Plaine.

Survived by children, Cindy (Dave) Kruschke, Les (Janis) Buesgens, Mona Sullivan, Kathy (Alan) Hennen, Dennis Buesgens, and Andrew Buesgens. Also survived by 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson, sister Doris (Roger) Fahey, brother Steve (Helene) Schmitt, sisters-in-law Petronella Schmitt, Ruth Schmitt, Janette Buesgens, brothers-in-law Don Menzel, Loren Worm, many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by husband Art, parents, son-in-law Pat Sullivan, 4 brothers, and 5 sisters.
