Obituary of Constance Cowan

Constance celebrated the new year by going to be with Jesus Christ. 

She was born in Windom, MN to Walter and Rena Cowan. She attended public school there and graduated from high school in 1943. She went on to get a BS degree from the U of M [Mpls] in 1947 and taught in secondary schools for 2 years in Wisconsin and Minnesota. At that time she returned to school to qualify for teaching elementary grades, 2 years  in Pueblo Col., then in Duluth at Lincoln, Birchwood, and lastly Chester Park.

Upon retirement in 1985 she travelled to Israel,  Europe, Scotland, the UK, and Russia where she donated Bibles to the  poor. She joined First Presbyterian church in Duluth in 1961, and  volunteered there as deacon, elder, Sunday school teacher, church  librarian and other tasks.

She is preceded in death by her parents  and 3 brothers, James, Hugh, and David.

A gathering in her honor is  planned but date and place not set at this time. She was a spiritual mentor to many.
