Obituary of Janice Isensee Butz

 

Janice Marie Isensee Butz, age 77, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2020 at her home in Hopkins, Minnesota under the special care of Interim Hospice.

Jan was born April 23, 1943 in Veblen, SD, the daughter of Milton “Bud” and Priscilla “Percy” (Janisch) Isensee. Jan was raised in Cayuga, ND and graduated from St. Francis Academy High School, Hankinson, ND, with the class of 1961.

After high school graduation Jan moved to Minneapolis where she worked for Bell Telephone, Nordstrom Department store and later as Human Resource Manager at Dayton Rogers of Blaine, MN, until her retirement in 2003. Jan was united in marriage to Tom Butz on August 6, 1988. Jan and Tom enjoyed traveling (especially cruises and dude ranches), dancing, entertaining family and friends, and attending the activities of their grandchildren, nieces and nephew.

Jan was very active in retirement: reading, biking, cross country skiing, supporting her church, St. Bonaventure Catholic, working in her beautiful yard, spending time with friends, and volunteering at the Martin Luther Manor. Jan lived in her Bloomington home until November, 2018 when she moved to The Glenn Catholic Senior Community. Jan was a loving wife, daughter and sister and will be missed.

Jan is survived by: brother Don (Linda) Isensee, Perham, MN, sister Judy (Lloyd) Anderson, Fargo, ND; three nieces, Shelly Brouwer, Minnetonka, MN, Dana O’Reilly, Chicago, IL, Tiffany Gette, New Market, MD; and one nephew, Troy Gette, Ft. Pierre, SD.

Jan was proceeded in death by her parents, Bud and Percy, brother Ron, and husband Tom.

The family expresses a special thank you to the staff at The Glenn Catholic Community and to the Interim Hospice. There will be a funeral and burial at a later date.
