Obituary of Charles Robert Peterson

Charles Robert Peterson passed away at home on Tuesday, December 29, 2020.  Chuck was born to Floyd and Myrtle (Friis) Peterson on May 23, 1943 in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

          He attended many schools in Iowa and southern Minnesota.  In 1961 he graduated from Windom High School, Windom, Minnesota.  Chuck attended Northwestern College in Minneapolis where he met his wife Karen and they were married June 5, 1965.  He graduated from Mankato State College in 1967 with a B.A. in Sociology.

          Chuck served 6 years in the U.S. Army Reserves during the Vietnam era.  He worked in several different occupations including Super America, Hallmark Cards, Social Work on the county level and in a nursing home, Dairy Queen, and as a mail carrier in the west and north suburbs of Minneapolis.

          After retiring and moving to Chanhassen, Minnesota in 2005, years were spent working with parents of special needs kids in the Barnabas Ministry at Grace Church of Eden Prairie.  This was the most fulfilling and rewarding part of his life.  He thoroughly enjoyed the friendships and walking alongside hurting families.

          He is survived by wife Karen, daughter Stephanie, son Nathan & Terri;  Brandon, Ashley & Zach and Mackenzie, Bronson.

          Memorial Service will be held at Grace Church, 9301 Eden Prairie Road, Eden Prairie, Minnesota on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior.  The service will be live streamed at grace.church/peterson.
