Darlene Violet (Wierimaa)
Meyer, 77, passed away June 9, 2019 at Solvay Hospice House. Darlene was born on December 1, 1941 to
Wilho and Elma Wierimaa.
Darlene was a hardworking, independent person who enjoyed spending time with family at her cousin's cabin on Island Lake, gardening and knitting. Darlene loved and cared for her family dearly and would do anything for them. She was a bookkeeper for Shopper's City and went on to be the bookkeeper for the City of Hermantown until her retirement
in January, 2005.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, an infant sister, Linda and her son, Dean Boese.
Darlene is survived by brother, Duane (Kathy) Wierimaa and nephew Danny; daughter Dawn (Brian) McMillan and granddaughter Taylor; grandson Andy Willoughby (Brittany) and great granddaughter Elli and great grandsons Ryan and one to be born September, 2019; Andy's mom Roberta Willoughby and many cousins, extended family and friends.
Visitation will be at 9 am until the 10 am memorial service on Friday, June 14, at Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Ave, Duluth.
