Obituary of Carol Ann Partington

Carol Ann Partington, Age 72, died November 24, 2018 in Edina, MN. Born in Evansville, IN on November 28, 1945, her family moved from Indiana to Florida in 1950. She graduated from Mainland High School (Daytona Beach, FL) in 1963, earned her B.A. in Education from FAU (Boca Raton, FL) in 1966, and completed her M.A. in Education from USF (Tampa, FL) in 1978. Carol was a gifted and caring Elementary School Teacher for 23 years, specializing in children with learning disabilities.

Throughout her life, Carol was a passionate advocate for peace and justice, participating in the Nuclear Freeze Movement and volunteering with Hillsborough Organization for Progress and Equality (HOPE). After retiring, she took classes and made new friends at the Osher Life Long Learning Institute (OLLI) at USF.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents, William Eugene Partington and Jessie Aileen Robinson. She is survived by her Minnesota Family (daughter Marie Tinnes; son-in-law Dean Tinnes; and granddaughter Marina Tinnes); and her Florida Family (sister Janie Calhoun; brother William Partington, II; and many nieces and nephews).

Carol will be remembered as an intelligent, creative, and sensitive woman. A playful spirit who was always open to new experiences, Carol was able to genuinely embrace the joy in life. She easily connected with everyone who crossed her path regardless of age or background, impacting them in a way that left a lasting impression. She approached her death with the same gracious attitude that she led her life. Carol died peacefully with her daughter Marie at her side.
