Obituary of Daniel Drew Trampe

   Daniel Drew Trampe, 76, of Maple Grove, passed away Oct. 8 after a long illness. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Patricia Ann Trampe. Dan was preceded in death by his father George Ernst Trampe, mother Ann May Cleven Trampe and brother Dean Trampe. Dan was blessed with two children with his first wife, Sharon Ann Moehrig Roy – Christina Trampe Martin (Michael David) and Carter Russell Trampe, by which he is survived, as well as by his beloved stepson Michael Robert Novelli (Jessica,) Loy Mentzer, Dennis Trampe, Joy Puppe, David Trampe, grandchildren Miesha Hackett (Isaac,) Alexander Novelli, Joey Novelli, Vincent Novelli, best friend Gary Hietala of 60 years, and many nieces nephews and friends.

    Dan’s passion was working on a family cabin property in Longville, Minnesota, and snowmobiling. He also was a proud veteran of the Vietnam Era as a flight-line manager in the U.S. Navy. His squadron was based at Lemoor Naval Air Base in Hanford, California, which also served on the U.S.S. Midway, and he also had assignments as flight-line manager in Corpus Christi at the naval base there.

    Originally from Long Prairie, Minnesota, where the Trampe’s owned a grade-a dairy, Dan also lived in St. Paul for many years, and Pine City, Minnesota. He always played for various softball teams. When living in Pine City, he also served as snowmobile association president.

    A celebration of life is planned to transpire at the Osseo American Legion, but as no date has yet been determined.  For further details on the celebration, please reach out by email to chris@12357911@yahoo.com.
