Donald Elroy Tonsberg, Age 71

Beloved father of April ( Daryl) Harth passed away peacefully on November

13, 2014 at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota. Don was born on

April 10, 1943 in Howard Lake, MN to Theodore and Esther (Scott) Tonsberg. He

grew up and learned to be a hard worker on the family farm in Wright County

along with his siblings; Marlon, Doris, Roger, and Jeanette.

He served in the United States Army as a military police officer in

Vietnam, Japan, and Washington DC. He was honorably discharged on January 31 of

1969. After attending college at Mankato State University, he took a job in the

automotive industry and later became a skilled auto body repair man.

His marriage of almost 10 years to Sharon ( Dembovsky) yielded the birth of

his cherished baby girl, he affectionate referred to as his "princess", he named

April Treasure on April 6, 1983. Don's daughter and stepchildren appreciated the

valuable life skills he taught them in the areas of home repair, automotive

work, and driving as well as playing chess. He will also be remembered for

giving them little "projects" to do. He loved playing golf, enjoyed watching

wildlife and feeding the deer and wild turkeys, as well as cruising around in

his car, or later on his electric wheelchair. He was loved and will be missed by

many.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses and staff at

the VA Hospital of St. Cloud, MN. Your love and care was deeply appreciated and

Don really loved all of you. Thank you also to the wonderful staff at the St.

Cloud Hospital and especially Dr. Joy Sia Su. It was a great comfort to know Dad

was in the care of such loving hands at the end of his days.

A memorial will be held at the Lakeside Ballroom in Glenwood,MN, on

Wednesday, November 19, 2014 from 4:30 to 7 PM, with a brief service starting at

5 PM followed by refreshments and time to visit with friends and family. If you
