Obituary of Mary Jane Platt

Platt, Mary Jane Age 91, of Edina, passed away on November 28, 2014. She was born in Blue Earth, MN on April 22, 1923 to Emero and Helen Wayne. She spent her youth in Walker, MN where she enjoyed rowing and sailing on Leech Lake. She moved to Minneapolis where she met her husband Cort. They later married in Seattle in 1944 prior to Cort's deployment overseas. Cort and Mary Jane enjoyed an active life together traveling, fishing, dancing, hunting, while establishing a successful small business and raising five children. Mary Jane was also a long time member of Edina garden club, Winahbar, and member of the Eastern Star, St. Anthony Park Chapter #212. She was preceded in death by husband, Cort George and sister, Nancy H. Peterson. She is survived by her children, James, Christine (William) Swanson, Karen Platt, Jonathan (Barbara), and Jesse (Theresa); grandchildren, Alexander, Margaret, Natalie, and Jacklyn; great grandchildren, Logan and Ethan. Memorial gathering on Tuesday, December 2, from 5 pm to 8 pm at the Cremation Society of MN - Edina, 7110 France Ave. S.
