Reuben Larson

Obituary of Reuben Richard Larson

Larson, Reuben Richard 82, of Eden Prairie, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2014 after a short battle with cancer. Reub was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota in 1932 and grew up in Wells, Minnesota. He attended Carleton College in Northfield, graduating in 1954. After college, he joined the Navy, stayed on active duty for four years and retired from the reserves as a Captain in 1982. He built a very successful business as a manufacturer's representative selling building materials throughout the Midwest, and enjoyed it so much that he kept selling even after he "retired" to Arizona. He loved trapshooting, stories about the old west and lunches with his buddies at a number of establishments. Reub is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Betsy, his three children Richard (Annie) of Northfield, Mark of San Francisco, CA and Kari Fernholz (Jim) of Eden Prairie, his granddaughters Sara and Katie, grandsons Derek and Drew, and his sister Betty Ann (Dick) of Conroe, TX. A public memorial will be planned for the spring.
