Obituary of Patsy R Solem

Patsy R. (Haugen) Solem age 81, rejoined the love of her life Howard, and was reunited with her sons on Sunday, December 7, 2014. She was born November 2, 1933 in Crosby, MN to Norman and Ruth Haugen. On November 18, 1950, Patsy married Howard N. Solem, Sr. Patsy was a cook at several schools then managed and retired from the St. Luke’s Hospital Coffee Shop. She and Howard enjoyed traveling together whether by car or train. They were snow birds, spending winters in Arizona. Patsy was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd and lived her faith daily, all of her life. Patsy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Howard in 2000; two sons, Howard, Jr., and Thomas; a grandson, James Joseph Lanthier; her parents; and several brothers. She is survived by her children, Ruth (Steve) Lanthier, Martin (Tricia) Solem, Mike (Bonnie) Solem and Mindy (Dan) Beaudry all of Duluth; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a step-brother, James (Jackie) Abrams of Duluth; many other relatives and friends. The family would like to thank Dr. Kimberly Thompson, Dr. Michael Hieb and the staff at Diamond Willow in Proctor for their loving care of Patsy.
