Obituary of Robert L. Kaylor
Robert L. “Moose” Kaylor, age 85 of Duluth passed away peacefully Monday, December 8, 2014 while at the Silver Bay Veterans Home.
He was born May 10, 1929 in Greer, Ohio to Curtis and Gladys Kaylor. Bob was a 1947 high school graduate of Danville, OH. In 1951 He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, retiring after 22 years of service. On February 26, 1965 Bob married Barbara “Judy” Hamlin.
After retiring from the Air Force, Bob worked for the Duluth Local Longshoremen’s Union and then in security at St. Luke’s Hospital, for over 20 years.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 109, a Boy Scout Troop Leader and an avid fisherman.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Lyle.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Judy; children, Marie (John Patrick) Kaylor, Ross and Tom (Katie) all of Duluth; six grandchildren, Chrissy (Tim) Nelson, Val DuPuis, Mikayla Gill, Michael Gill, Keira Kaylor and Brighton Kaylor; two great-grandchildren, Alaina and Natalie; his sister, Lillian Strouse of Loudonville, OH; many other relatives and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff of St. Luke’s Hospital I.C.U., and especially the staff of the Silver Bay Veterans Home, where he enjoyed the last couple years of his life.
Gathering of family and friends from 10am until the 11am memorial service Monday, December 15th at the French River Lutheran Church, 5310 Ryan Road. Arrangements entrusted to Cremation Society of Minnesota 218-624-5200.
