Obituary of Jack Carlos Harding

Jack, of Burnsville, age 74, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on December 22, 2014. Born in Ottumwa, IA and preceded in death by his parents, Carl "Cotton" and Dorothy "June" Harding. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Sharon, his son, Sean, his daughter, Jan (Chris) Gilbert, his grandchildren Will and Jack Gilbert, his sister Junette (Charlie) Hautamaki, and his nephew and niece, Jay and Joni Hautamaki. A gentle giant, Jack was a paint sundries independent contractor for nearly 40 years and could fix anything he laid his hands on. He loved tinkering in the garage building whatever creative project came to mind. Affectionately nicknamed by the kids he coached, "Papa Jack" coached his children in both baseball and softball as they grew up. His favorite past times were playing softball and dancing with his wife. His boisterous laughter and unique sense of humor will be remembered and deeply missed by the lives he touched and all who knew him. Visitation for family and friends will be Monday, December 29 from 10-11 AM at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church (13901 Fairview Dr, Burnsville, MN) with memorial service at 11 AM and lunch following. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be donated to the American Lung Association or Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.
