Obituary of Steven Belich

Steven “Oscar” Belich, age 60, of Duluth, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2014. Steve was born in Duluth to Nick Sr. and Mildred Belich on January 20, 1954. Steve was baptized at St. George Serbian Othodox Church in Duluth. He graduated from Morgan Park High School in 1972. He was active in debate, track and cross country. Steve’s employment included Bridge Operator at the Minnesota Slip and Building Services at the Depot for Onieda Management Company. He enjoyed wildlife and being outdoors, rides in the country with his wife, cruising the side streets, and getting the local “scoop”. Steve’s contagious personality and willingness to quietly help those in need will be forever missed. Steve had the uncanny ability to bring peace to situations, love at all times, and laughter to all who knew him. His impersonations and tremendous sense of humor was a gift to all. Steve was preceded in death by his parents. Steve is survived by his loving wife of 37 years Jeanine of Duluth; daughter Jessica; grandchildren Gaia, Luna and Loki of Superior all of whom he so dearly cherished; brothers Mark (Cathy) and Nick Jr. (Kathy) of Duluth, Rod (Mel) and Gary of Bloomington, MN and Dan (Tamara) of Esko; many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and aunts. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred. Oscar will be sadly missed. May his memory be etermal: “Laku Noc’” A memorial service will be held Monday, January 5th, 2015 at 11:00 am at Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Avenue, Duluth. A visitation will be held one hour prior.
