Obituary of Leo Odden
Leo Odden
October 17, 1935 - December 31, 2014
Leo Odden, 79, passed away peacefully on New Year’s Eve. We invite you to a Memorial Service on May 2nd at 11am at the Maiden Rock United
Methodist Church followed by a luncheon across the street at the Maiden
Rock Inn from 12pm - 3pm. Leo, the oldest of three born to Gladys and
Lester Odden, grew up on a farm in the Rush River Valley of Maiden Rock. He joined the service after high school and was stationed in Germany. He
returned home and soon married Carol (Joseph), his wife of 25 years. Leo and Carol raised three children in Golden Valley, Minnesota. He dearly
loved his free time at the farm. In the 70's and 80's, Leo developed his
beekeeping business. He maintained beehives in various places and
produced raw honey by the gallon, from honeycomb to jar. Leo and Carol
divorced in 1989. A few years later, Leo met Sharon Anderson. They
enjoyed 22 years together. It was during this time that Leo joined the
Minneapolis Commodores Barbershop Chorus. In his later years, Leo was blessed with four grandchildren. For nearly five decades, Leo was the sole proprietor of the Grain Exchange Barber Shop, in downtown Minneapolis.
Leo wanted to thank all his loyal customers over the years for their
business. Please join us in Leo's hometown of Maiden Rock, Wisconsin on May 2nd to share memories of Leo and to bid him farewell.
