Teefy, Geraldine A. (Oberkofler) Geraldine (Geri) Anne Teefy, age 89, of Mpls, MN, passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2016. Wake, Thursday, April 14, 2016, 6-8 pm with rosary following at First Memorial Waterston Chapel, 4343 Nicollet Ave. South, Mpls. Funeral and Mass of Christian Burial Friday, April 15th, 2016, 11:00am. Visitation one hour prior, Church of the Incarnation, 3801 Pleasant Avenue, Mpls. Geri was born in Buffalo, NY to Paul and Margaret Nagle Oberkofler on June 30, 1926. She was a Registered nurse and was part of the U.S. Nurse Cadet Corp during and after World War II. While on a blind date in New London, CT, Geri met the love of her life, Iowa navy man (Paul) Donald Teefy. After a long-distance courtship, the couple married in 1950 and settled in Mpls. Geri was a member of Incarnation Church, and very committed to her faith, community, and living out her Catholic values. Geri touched many people with her generous spirit and throughout her full and fruitful life. She was always game for an adventure and lived by her motto: “Have bag, will travel”. Geri’s unwavering faith in God allowed her to face some of life’s adversity with dignity and with strength. She is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years Don, daughters Margaret Stewart (Tom), Maureen Teefy, Mary Rose Anyanwu, Patricia Teefy, Elizabeth Teefy (Bobby), Martha Hertelendy Teefy (David), Colleen Kaelin (Greg); and her cherished grandchildren: Isabella, Patrick, Kevin, Conor, Aiden, Marianna, Kathleen Mae, Magdalene, Joseph, Julia and Becket. She is preceded in death by her parents, her children; Kevin (1960) and Kathleen (1972); and her brother Peter. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
