Date of Death - April 2, 2018

Jerome Edward Held, age 85, passed away in the early morning hours of Monday, April 2nd at his home in Rogers, MN. He was born November 1st, 1932 in Minneapolis.
Jerry was an excellent athlete and an “all city” fullback on his Patrick Henry High School Football Team in 1950. He had successful business careers opening Rapids Sport Center in Coon Rapids, MN and many roles in the Beef Industry at United Dress Beef, Twin City Meats and Held Beef Industries in Fargo, ND.
Jerry raised his family on Twin Lake in Robbinsdale where he enjoyed pulling his daughters and the neighborhood kids water skiing in the summer and ice skating in the winter. The neighborhood kids always wanted Jerry to come out and play Pom Pom Pull Away. Jerry was a father to stepson Steve and they enjoyed their time together at the cabin. Steve’s friends were always welcome!

He enjoyed fishing, boating, golfing and hunting - especially grouse hunting in his later years. He was also an avid sharks tooth hunter on Manasota Key Beach in Englewood.
Jerry is survived by his wife Judy; a daughter Linda (Scott) Gunderson, stepson Steve Monk; grandchildren Travis (Tonia) Gunderson, Trent (Alecia) Gunderson, Trevor (Sarah) Gunderson, Allie and Olivia Monk; and 6 great grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to a celebration of life from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 5th at the clubhouse, 23979 Rivers Edge Road, Rogers, MN 55374
Grandpa’s wonderful words of wisdom to his grandchildren.
After a breakup with a girlfriend he said not to worry because girls are like buses, there is always another one coming along.
Don’t worry about losing your hair, god only made so many perfect heads and he put hair on the rest.
