Ailie was born on a small family farm in Lakota, North Dakota. She graduated valedictorian of her senior high school class. After graduation, she moved to Floodwood, MN, where she met and married Edwin Hill.

Ailie is probably best known in the Scott/Dakota County area for selling her hand-crafted Barbie doll clothing at local church bazaars.

Ailie loved reading, gardening, cooking, and crocheting. She was adept at sewing, loved doing crossword puzzles, and enjoyed her trips to Little Six Bingo. She loved watching the Minnesota Twins and ice skating. She was an extremely bright, and had an incredible memory.

According to her wishes, she will be laid to rest in Hope Lutheran Church cemetery, alongside her husband, Edwin, this spring. A private celebration of her life will be held with her immediate family in the spring. The family is grateful for the care she received from Northfield Long Term Care for the past two and a half years.
